Welcome to the Half Moon

A traditional country pub, family run, dating back to the 18th century serving seasonal and locally sourced food. Our menu is prepared and cooked to a high standard - catering for all allergens and dietary requirements. We pride ourselves on customer service and have different dining areas so we are able to cater for a variety of dining experiences. We are dog friendly but dogs are restricted to the bar area so be sure to mention when booking. In the Summer it is not unusual to see horse and rider in the garden enjoying a refreshing drink.

Delicious Food

We have a traditional lunch menu which includes wraps and Ploughman’s. The main dining menu includes dishes such as homemade burgers, partridge & venison (seasonal), beer battered cod & chips, vegan shepherd’s pie, halibut and mussels. Puddings are also all homemade and include traditional sticky ginger pudding with toffee sauce & ice cream, Bakewell tart as well as locally sourced traditional English cheeses.

Refreshing drinks

We currently serve Harveys Best bitter, Speckled Hen & seasonal guest ales. Lagers on keg include Heineken, Becks Vier & Budvar. Aspall Cider and Guinness are also available. We have a wide selection of single malt whisky and only serve premium soft drinks and tonics including Fentimans, Fever Tree and Frobishers.

Relaxing Atmosphere

In The Half Moon we have many different dining areas and we can cater for all occasions. There is a small room with an inglenook fireplace, top bar and more traditional area in the lower bar as well as a large dining room leading into the garden via patio doors onto flagstone then two steps onto the large back lawn where you’ll find the recently planted orchard. There is also seating in the front of the pub for a quick refreshment. In the Summer the garden is a pleasant and tranquil place to sit. Tables inside and out are well spaced allowing privacy and more space which has been even more important these past couple years.
